Call for Sessions

After the successful conferences in the last years, we are pleased to announce the fourth XP Days Germany. Like last year the conference will be co-arranged by andrena objects AG and akquinet agile GmbH.

In the tradition of previous XP Days in London and Benelux, XP Days Germany is a one-day international conference about eXtreme Programming and Agile Software Development aimed at software developers, project leaders, IT managers, testers, architects, and coaches. It provides a good opportunity for exchanging ideas and sharing experiences, and is suited for both experienced participants and beginners in Agile Software Development. The focus of this conference is on practical knowledge, real-world experience and active participation of all attendees. Because of this emphasis, the number of participants is limited to 150.

We encourage session proposals from experienced practitioners of eXtreme Programming (XP) and other agile software development methods, such as Adaptive, Crystal, DSDM, Feature-Driven Development, Lean and Scrum.

The conference takes place in Karlsruhe. Speakers will get free admission to the conference on the day that they present.

The conference language is German, English sessions are welcome.

Session Formats

We encourage sessions in a variety of formats: Talks, presentations, interactive sessions, workshops, tutorials, simulations and games. Sessions will be organised into three tracks over two days. Each session may be 1, 2 or 3 hours in duration. 3 hour sessions are reserved for workshops.

We plan to provide some introductory talks on the day or evening before the conference. You can also submit proposals for that.

Possible session topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Agile processes from the perspective of the customer, manager or developer
  • Tools and techniques
  • Contracts for agile software projects
  • Continuous process improvement
  • Transitioning to an agile process
  • The economics of agile software development
  • Scaling agile development processes
  • Agile project and requirements management
  • The limits of Agility
  • Success factors for employing agile processes
  • Agile development and planned re-use

Review criteria

  • Relevance for agile software development and agile business processes.
  • We encourage proposals not only from experienced speakers but also from novices.
  • We cannot accept puer commercial contributions.
  • We encourage unconventional session formats.
  • You can submit multiple proposals.
  • Shorter sessions are prefered.

Sessions can be submitted online.

We are looking forward to suggestions of all types and an active discussion on the conference blog at http://xpdayblog.it-agile.de/blog/.
